Inspiring the Next Generation of STEM Leaders

Active Plus partnered with the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and Canals for the If You Can See It, You Can Be It initiative, connecting young people with hands-on STEM learning and opportunities to explore careers in the energy sector.

The event introduced children ages 5–12 to STEM concepts through interactive activities, career exploration, and conversations with professionals working in the energy field. Active Plus brought more than 20 youth from our community to participate and experience the event firsthand.

By exposing young people to STEM careers and professionals from diverse backgrounds, the event encouraged students to envision themselves in fields they may not have previously considered. Experiences like these help expand young people’s understanding of what is possible and inspire them to explore future educational and career opportunities.
