Spring, 2022 - Pause and Breathe Program

Our Pause and Breathe program started the first Thursday of March. This 6-week virtual program is near and dear to our hearts. It's dedicated to creating a safe space for youth to learn about their sense of self through mindfulness and meditation. Lessons are thoughtfully crafted and aimed to empower young minds and support their mental health. Mindfulness and mental well-being hold great importance here at Active Plus, so we’re so excited to support our youth both physically and mentally.

Ten students in total attended this first week, and their ages ranged from 10 to 15 years old. They expressed their need for help with managing their emotions, along with gratitude for being a part of this program. They were happy to take a moment, for themselves, to just breathe.

Some comments received after the first session included:

“This is a reminder that I can always take a break.”

“I am excited to be here because I need to deal with stress, and have this calm me down a bit.”
