Help Bronx Students Start the School Year Strong

This September, Active Plus is bringing together students, families, volunteers, and community partners for our annual Back to School Community Event—a free afternoon designed to help students begin the new school year feeling prepared, confident, and excited to learn.

The event will provide school supplies, educational resources, sports and basketball activities, STEM and drone experiences, arts & crafts, healthy refreshments, and community connections for hundreds of Bronx students and their families.

We Need Your Help!

This event is only possible because of the generosity of our community. Whether you volunteer your time or donate supplies, your support will make a meaningful difference in helping local students start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.

Volunteer

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with:

• Event setup and breakdown

• Backpack and school supply distribution

• Activity stations

• Registration and family check-in

• General event support

No experience is necessary—just a willingness to serve the community.

Donate School Supplies

We're collecting new school supplies and backpacks for local students. Donations of the following items are especially appreciated:

• Backpacks

• Notebooks and composition books

• Pencils, pens, crayons, and markers

• Folders and binders

• Glue sticks, scissors, rulers

• Calculators

• Hand sanitizer and tissues

Financial contributions are also welcome and allow us to purchase the supplies most needed by students.

Every donation and every volunteer helps ensure that Bronx students walk into the first day of school prepared, encouraged, and ready to succeed.
